Last year was a busy year. So busy, I hardly blogged at all. In that year, I defended my dissertation and accepted a job as a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of English at the University of West Florida. And here I am! I’m excited to be in a new place, beginning new research projects and teaching new classes.
What’s in the works for this year? Well, as of right now it looks like I’ll be doing some research on how ePortfolios function in the business, technical, and professional communication job marketplace. More on that as the project(s) develop.
On Monday, I begin teaching a Science Writing Lab in partnership with the Biology Department. The class is essentially a writing studio/workshop for biology and other science students. I’m really excited to be teaching this class and developing its curriculum. I’m hoping it will be a nice balance of learning rhetorical and writing concepts and practicing them through a workshop format.
