Today I begin to build my site via WordPress. I know basic HTML and CSS, but I’m hoping that the WordPress route will allow me to speed the process without sacrificing too much control.

As a student and teacher of rhetoric, I cannot help but be conscious of the fact that I am constructing a particular online identity with each page I create–each choice I make. I want to balance a professional ethos with enough personality to make an impression. Easy-peasy mac-and-cheesy, right? Hah.

Though I’ve created teaching philosophies before, I’m new to research plans and technology statements. My teaching philosophy has changed so much as I grow as an instructor that I feel like I’m starting from scratch with it as well. It’s both exciting and overwhelming. We’ll see how it goes.
